Interior Decoration & Design in Kalapet: what we do
Kalapet, on the coast north of the town, is home to Pondicherry University and is popular for beach-side homes, rentals and guesthouses. We design and execute interiors for homes and commercial spaces: modular kitchens, TV units, wardrobes, false ceilings, lighting, flooring and furnishing, coordinated with the civil team so there is no rework.
Humidity and salt are hard on interiors. We recommend moisture-resistant boards, quality hardware and finishes that hold up in coastal air.
What is included
- Modular kitchens and wardrobes

Local considerations in Kalapet
Kalapet is part of the coastal belt, and that shapes how we plan and build:
- 01
Plots close to the shoreline may fall under CRZ rules, which we check before any design work begins.
- 02
Salt-laden air accelerates corrosion, so reinforcement cover, concrete quality and protective coatings get extra attention.
- 03
A higher water table and sandy ground can affect foundations; we assess the soil before finalising the design.
Approvals and rules
Plans are handled through the Puducherry planning authorities, and plots close to the shoreline may also need to be checked against Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) norms. Requirements change over time, so we confirm the current process for your plot before design is finalised and prepare the documents accordingly. Read about our approval support.
